I think it's amazing that you're seeking a better mother daughter relationship! It takes strength and courage to even take that first step.
By leaning-in, you have started a path to healing, hope, and growth between you both. You've also committed to working on a bigger cause than yourselves--shifting the paradigm for future generations of women in your family. You're leaving a legacy through mother daughter coaching.
Mother daughter coaching is not therapy, as we do not address underlying mental health conditions and underlying trauma, nor do I utilize traditional therapeutic modalities for this type of work. Rather, I utilize the Mother-Daughter Attachment Model (TM) to identify intergenerational patterns and relational dynamics that will give you a more informed view of your source of conflict and others areas of growth in your mother daughter relationship. Additionally, you will learn how to communicate with each other in ways that make both of you feel seen, heard, and valued by each other. It's not about agreeing with each other all the time, it is about earning to hold each other's space with safety and respect for each other's individuality.
You might ask: "How do we know if we're ready for this work?!" Here are a few questions to answer:
If both of you said "YES" to all of these questions, this means you're ready for mother daughter work.
I look forward to working with you both!
